Cardiff City FC Foundation would like to thank everyone involved with the Premier Bluebirds Group, who raised almost £500 to help us to continue to provide support for children and young people across South Wales to achieve their full potential.

Through the sale of their limited edition pin badges, created to show support for City fan-favourite Sol Bamba following his diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, the group of over 2,500 have kindly donated proceeds to the Bluebirds Charity, of which Sol is a Player Ambassador.

Everyone involved with Cardiff City FC Foundation and Cardiff City Football Club is standing proudly alongside Sol and it is great to see him back in training with his teammates.

The Premier Bluebirds Group was formed in 2018 and is officially linked to both the Cardiff City Supporters Trust and Cardiff City Supporters Club. The Group was created by City fan Martin Davis and was set up 'to stimulate talking points with like-minded City fans.'

Martin said: "Our group is blessed with many members from diverse backgrounds and different genders and as such we all see things from a different perspective. When news broke of Sol's illness I contacted my friend with my idea and thus this is how the pin badge was created. Thanks to the generosity of our membership we raised a great amount and I am absolutely delighted!"

Foundation Director Gavin Hawkey said: "We're extremely grateful to Martin and everyone involved in the Premier Bluebirds Group, and to everyone who purchased a pin badge. Thank you all for your efforts. It has been a particularly difficult year for us all, but even more so for the children and young people we support, so fundraising efforts like this are truly appreciated."
