Cardiff City FC Foundation are delighted to announce that Stephen Doughty MP has become an ambassador for the official charity of Cardiff City Football Club.

As well as being a season ticket holder and Bluebirds fan for 30 years, Stephen is also the Labour and Co-operative MP for Cardiff South and Penarth, since being elected in 2012, and has a background in the charity sector.

Stephen will use his influence and skills to help Cardiff City FC Foundation and raise the profile of the charity’s initiatives, which supports children, young people and families in South Wales to achieve their full potential.

Stephen is an influential supporter of the Foundation who is passionate about creating more prosperous, healthier, more resilient and cohesive communities, and tackling health, education and employment inequalities.

Gavin Hawkey, Foundation Director at Cardiff City FC Foundation said: “I am thrilled to be able to welcome Stephen on board as an ambassador, he has a wealth of experience which will help us as a charity to better assist our beneficiaries.”

Speaking about his appointment, Stephen Doughty MP added: “I was delighted to be asked to be an ambassador for Cardiff City FC Foundation, an effective and inspirational charity that engaged with over 17,000 participants last year.

“I look forward to promoting the exceptional work they do, helping the Foundation to build on their positive success so far.”
