The annual Kids Cup tournament in association with New Directions Education and the EFL Trust came to it's conclusion today, with Romilly Primary School lifting the trophy.

A tense final saw Romilly run out 1-0 winners against George Street Primary School, and they will now represent Cardiff City Football Club in the regional finals that take place in Reading later this year.

153 teams took part over six days of qualifiers, with schools coming from as far as Chepstow to take part in the event.

Dawn Dobbs, P.E teacher at Romilly Primary said: “We have taken part in this tournament since it began in 1999. We first won back in 2012, and entered two teams in this year’s tournament. We are just so proud to have won again."
