The Bluebirds Charity would like to congratulate Pentrepoeth Primary School as they defeated Ysgol Y Wern in the final of our Premier League Primary Stars mixed U11 tournament in partnership with New Directions Education

Over 150 teams from all over South Wales entered this year's competition, with six days of qualifying needed to narrow down 24 finalists who went head-to-head on 22nd January at Cardiff International Sports Campus.

Pentrepoeth will join Millbank Primary School, who's girls team won our girls-only tournament, at Molineux in May to represent Cardiff City FC against the other 19 Premier League clubs to battle it out for the Premier League Primary Stars title.

A very close final against Ysgol Y Wern saw the fixture go to extra time and penalties, before Pentrepoeth went on to secure victory and receive the coveted Cardiff Continental Schools Cup.

These tournaments give primary school children the opportunity to access competitive sport outside the classroom, further allowing them to life healthy, more active lifestyles.

We also want children taking part to be ambitious, inspiring, connected and fair, the four main values that Cardiff City FC Foundation and Premier League Primary Stars underpin to these events.
