CARDIFF CITY FC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW FIVE-YEAR STRATEGY Cardiff City FC Community Foundation are proud to reveal our new five-year strategy, which sets out how we plan to inspire children, young people and families to achieve their full potential. As the official charity of Cardiff City Football Club, we are privileged to be able to use the unique appeal of the Club to improve lives across South Wales. In order to make a positive difference, our new strategy will focus on three key outcomes; healthier and more active lives; improved education and employment opportunities; and reduced offending and re-offending. Leader of Cardiff Council, Councillor Huw Thomas was on hand to help launch the new strategy at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday 1st December. Leaders from business, health, education and justice were also in attendance. 17 year-old Foundation student Eleanor Houlston-Clark expertly hosted the event which illustrated our commitment to showcasing the talent, resilience and achievements of our beneficiaries. Foundation Director, Gavin Hawkey said: “This is an exciting time for the Foundation. Over the next 5 years we will work with more than 60,000 people. We want to make people proud – proud of their personal achievements and proud that our football club – through the work of the Foundation - changes lives.’ Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Cardiff City Football Club, and Foundation Trustee - Ken Choo said: “As a club – and in partnership with Cardiff City FC Foundation – we want to connect, inspire and support people in our communities. The Foundation’s new and ambitious strategy symbolises how we can have a significant social impact. I encourage local businesses, Cardiff City supporters and community organisations to back the Foundation in delivering this strategy."
