Congratulations go out to the Foundation’s Bluebirds Ability participants who recently lifted the Manchester United Disabled Supporter’s Association (MUDSA) trophy at the Red Devil’s training ground.

Taking on the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa and Norwich, our representatives eventually defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the final to secure the title.

As part of the Premier League and BT Disability initiative, teams from across the Premier League and Football League were invited to take part in the tournament, providing children and young people with a disability, access to sport.

Shwjeev was captain of our representatives, who lifted the trophy at Carrington.

Shwjeev is a participant on our I-Play project that takes place at his school. The I-Play project looks to identify older students considered as influential peers to mentor pupils from Additional Learning Needs and Special Educational Needs units during sports sessions.

We are able to use the power of sport to tackle the barrier of a negative perception of children and young people with disabilities, which can sometimes limit people with a disability’s involvement in regular physical activity.

Congratulations guys!
