Cardiff City FC Foundation were proud to be the delivery partner for the Cardiff Community Cohesion Cup, which saw the Bengali Community take on a select South Wales Police side for the Cardiff Community Super Cup.

The Bengali Community claimed this year's Community Cohesion Cup, which saw 10 communities from across the city take part, competing over six weeks for the chance to play under the lights at Cardiff City Stadium and take on South Wales Police for the Super Cup.

In partnership with South Wales Police, the Cardiff Community Cohesion Cup uses the power of sport to break down barriers, create an opportunity for better relationships & bring communities together.

We also welcomed members from the Yemeni and Kurdish Communities for a friendly beforehand, to further strengthen the relationship between the different communities across Cardiff.

The Cardiff Community Cohesion Cup was created for BAME communities across Cardiff starting in 2014, culminating in a cup final hosted at Cardiff City Stadium against a select eleven combined with South Wales Police staff and ex-professional football players representing a South Wales Police team.

The first Cohesion Cup took place in 2014 with a team from the Sudanese community playing a team of local police officers & ex professionals, growing to 7 teams in 2016, with ten teams competing since 2017.
