Cardiff City FC Community Foundation has been recognised as part of the 2019 UEFA Grassroots Awards, being awarded the bronze prize winner in the category "Best Professional Club".

The prize is awarded to a professional club with an inclusive agenda or specific social objective that demonstrates a commitment to its role in society, the local community and the grassroots game.

Cardiff City FC Community Foundation believes the diversity of our communities should be celebrated and provide inclusive opportunities across all our programmes, focusing on the needs of each individual, supporting children, young people and families to achieve their full potential.

As we celebrate UEFA's Grassroots Week 2019, the Bluebirds Charity also received funding from UEFA after being nominated by the FAW Trust, to support children and young people from disadvantaged communities across South Wales through the power of football.

The UEFA funding was used to set up a brand-new Premier League Kicks site in Ystrad Mynach, which will provide free sports sessions and important workshops based on the needs of the young people and the area they live in.

The sessions aim to improve health and wellbeing, build safer communities and support education, training and employment opportunities.
