Cardiff City FC Foundation is continuing its commitment to improving the delivery of P.E across South Wales by delivering part 1 of our digital CPD for primary school teachers, focusing on arrival activities.

Taking place throughout May, the online courses are free for all Teachers, TA’s, NQT’s and PGCE students to take part in and will last up to 2 hours via Microsoft Teams.

The online course presents ideas for lessons using a variety of games based around movement skills for 5–11-year-olds, and the basic principles of invasion games.

The course shows how differentiation and assessment for learning can be embedded in P.E lessons and also provide guidance to those teachers who might run a school team.

The course is applicable for those who wish to build on their existing knowledge and those with little confidence in PE or football. Throughout the course, the tutors will also explain the importance of high-quality PE in schools in order to develop confidence, self-esteem and belief amongst children and also the benefits of PE in raising academic achievement across other school subjects.

The course will cover:

  • How to differentiate activities
  • Linking P.E to the National Curriculum
  • Arrival activities

Mr Thomas from Rhiwbina Primary School said: “One of the best courses I’ve been on in 22 years teaching, an outstanding course which was so relevant for any ability. Very inspirational!!”
