Hilton Cardiff is set to host its annual charity ball to support local communities through the Cardiff City FC Foundation, and to raise money for children’s charity DM Thomas Foundation.

The black-tie event, held on the 13th October, will take place in the Hilton Cardiff’s grand ballroom, with entertainment from comedian Rod Woodward.

Last year, the event raised over £30,000 through a charity auction and raffle, which gave guests the chance to bid and win a range of luxury prizes, including trips to Vienna, Portugal, Athens and Venice.

This year, prizes will include luxury trips to Italy, Ras al Khaimah in the UAE and Iceland as well as Cardiff City FC player experiences and a behind the scenes opportunity at Cardiff City FC’s training ground. Guests at the event will also enjoy a champagne reception followed by a four-course menu designed by its award-winning chefs.

Money raised from the event will be donated to Cardiff City FC Foundation, the official charity of Cardiff City FC that helps children, young people and families achieve their full potential, promoting healthier more actives lives, providing improved education & employment opportunities and reducing offending and reoffending. Funds will also go to the DM Thomas Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children worldwide.

Marie Fagan, general manager at Hilton Cardiff, said: “Our charity ball is always a highlight in our calendar. Every year, we manage to raise more money thanks to the kind generosity of our guests and we hope we’ll be able to do the same this year.

“As a large city centre organisation, we believe we play a key role in supporting local charities which is why the Hilton ball is so important to us. So many people have benefited from the funds we have managed to raise and it’s important for us to continue to help as many people as we possibly can. We’ve got some great entertainment, a delicious menu and fantastic prizes lined up so it’s definitely an event not to be missed!”

Gavin Hawkey, foundation director at the Cardiff City FC Foundation said: "We are thrilled that Hilton Cardiff are supporting the Foundation, we rely on the support and generosity of organisations like Hilton Cardiff to be able extend our reach in communities across south Wales."

“We want a future where our communities are more prosperous, healthier, more resilient and more cohesive; a future where children, young people and families achieve their full potential regardless of inequalities they may face. The Hilton ball is such a prestigious event that will certainly help make a positive contribution towards achieving our long-term goal."
