Cardiff City FC Foundation are proud to support Children in Need this year, raising money, spreading the word and working towards the same outcomes.

This week marks the annual Children in Need live show and the Bluebirds Charity have been raising awareness throughout the week...

Alternative Lives Participants raise money...

Participants on our Alternative Lives Project in HMP Parc have been joining in with fundraising this week as they raised over £200 from their inter-wing football tournament.

Alternative Lives is an offender intervention project which aims to use the inspiration of professional football clubs to reduce offending.

The programme focuses upon four key outcomes; improving life skills, improving health and wellbeing, improved education and employment opportunities and improving understanding of crime and risk related behaviours.

PAN Disability sessions...

The Bluebirds Charity also run a number of PAN Disability sessions for all impairment types throughout the week. The sessions use football as a tool to increase physical health and activity, as well as social interaction, social circles and improve confidence.

Case Study: Jordi Blake

Children in Need’s support has enabled us to provide the entirety of these session for free, benefiting such individuals as Jordi.

When Jordi started the Children in Need sessions with the Bluebirds Charity in 2011, he needed to use his walker after being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when he was 21 months old.

As he got stronger, he held a coach’s hand, and eventually he could do the sessions unaided. Jordi has participated in football tournaments at Manchester United’s training ground, in Birmingham, Nottingham and Cardiff, as well as travelling with the Foundation to a tournament in Dublin, as guests of the Irish FA.

Without the sessions run by Children in Need, Jordi would have not been inspired to achieve his full potential as well as creating memories that will last a life time.
