Cardiff City FC Foundation welcomed Sam to Cardiff City Stadium as a mascot for Cardiff City vs. Huddersfield Town on 21st August.

Sam took the hand of Alex Smithies and walked side-by-side on to the pitch at Cardiff City Stadium in front of over 20,000 Bluebirds fans.

"Walking out with the players at Cardiff City Stadium was a dream for me, something I've always wanted to do," Sam says. "Being able to play football on the pitch and meet some of my heroes was amazing."

A standout participant in the Foundation's Primary Stars Project, Sam was rewarded with a mascot position for his progression and dedication to learning during lessons with Foundation coaches.

Sam has been a role model for his classmates since starting on the project, assisting coaches and organising practical sessions, contributing to an improvement in his self-confidence.

"I really enjoy mixing football with work in the classroom with Coach James, working and playing with my friends makes school really fun and I can't wait to start high school in September."

A huge Cardiff City fan, Sam has encouraged his peers who would not normally take part, to get involved with the physical and mental wellbeing sessions within school time as well as showing continuous progression with his own confidence.
