Cardiff City FC Community Foundation is celebrating 10 years of our club changing lives.

Over the past decade, the Cardiff City FC Community Foundation - the official charity of Cardiff City Football Club - has invested over £10 million is sport and education programmes across South Wales

Through this work, the Foundation has supported over 230,000 children, young people and families to change their lives for the better.

Originally from Sri Lanka, Isai felt isolated when she started her new school after moving to the Welsh capital. Isai was selected to take part in the Premier League Primary Stars Transition Project to support her move from primary to secondary school, with a focus on improving her ability to communicate in English.

The project aims to improve motivation and attitudes towards education while equipping young people with the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed.

When Isai first joined the project she was very shy and wouldn't speak to any of her classmates. The project provided the opportunity for her to interact with a small group and she began to make friends while expressing her love for football in the process.

The project improved Isai's confidence in reading, writing and communicating in English by using football-related topics to make learning a more engaging experience for her.

"Being part of this project has made me so much more confident, and now I'm in secondary school I feel much happier. I've had the best time with the Foundation over the last 6 months." Isai, Premier League Primary Stars Participant.
