The Bluebirds Charity were delighted to welcome Sol Bamba to Cardiff City Stadium to draw the fixtures for the 2019 Cardiff Community Cohesion Cup.

The purpose of the Cardiff Community Cohesion Cup is to use the power of sport to break down barriers, create an opportunity for better relationships & bring communities together.

Joined by members of all ten communities participating in the 2019 competition and South Wales Police Neighbourhood Partnership teams from across Cardiff, Chief Superintendent Steve Jones and Sol Bamba conducted the draw to determine the two Groups for the January start.

The Cardiff Community Cohesion Cup was created for BME communities across Cardiff starting in 2014, culminating in a cup final hosted at Cardiff City Stadium against a select eleven combined with South Wales Police staff and ex-professional football players representing a South Wales Police team.

The #CohesionCup19 will culminate in June with three of the ten community teams having the opportunity to play at the Cardiff City Stadium in the Super Cup Final and Community Final. This will also be a celebration day for families and friends of the community teams to attend to watch the fixtures and take part in activation activities hosted at Cardiff City Stadium.

The first cohesion cup took place in 2014 with a team from the Sudanese community playing a team of local police officers & ex professionals, this then grew to 7 teams in 2016, with ten teams competing since 2017.
