Cardiff City FC Foundation's Walking Football Team has been up and running since November 2015. Strangely, it was a Barclays TV advert that brought the game into the mainstream in 2014, since then the sport has seen exceptional growth, and the Foundation's team have thrived ever since.
The sessions now attract between 12-24 players each week, with sessions taking place at the House of Sport in Cardiff, every Thursday between 3-4pm.
The social circle that you will be a part of through weekly sessions and regular competitions are both key factors for many attending, on top of improving physical health and fitness.
As the name suggests, Walking Football is a non-contact sport and anyone that sprints, runs or jogs while the ball is in play will be penalised.
Come and find out why walking football has become a fast growing sport nationwide and represent the Bluebird badge.
