Tobi was an official Cardiff City FC Foundation mascot in the Bluebirds' 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday 21st September after he was rewarded for his hard work and dedication on the Primary Stars Project during Roald Dahl Day.

During Sol Bamba's visit, Tobi was chosen as the standout pupil of the day by City's No.22, for his impressive creative writing skills which included a thoughtful superpower to support others.

Pupils were tasked with deciding on their own superpowers after reading Matilda, the focus of this year's Roald Dahl Day celebrations.

When Sol Bamba came into school I felt very overjoyed and excited as he’s such a good footballer and role model to me. I was amazed that a footballer would come and visit our school. It was fantastic to be able to show him what we do here in our school.

Being picked as a mascot is a dream come true and to walk out with all my favourite players and hear the crowd was an opportunity of a lifetime.

The Bluebirds Charity and Herbert Thompson Primary School in Ely have been working together through the Premier League Primary Stars for a number of years, helping pupils and teachers to further develop themselves.

As well as working to improve children's literacy and numeracy skills, our practical sessions aim to increase participation in competitive sport, engaging with more than 5,000 children from 50 schools across South Wales each year, helping these school children lead healthier, more active lives.
